i almooooost picked this up at the gladstone but i choked. i can think of maaaaaany people deserving of such a fine gift. throw a gingerbread twitter logo and a properly formatted tweet and you’ve got something way better than one of those dumb cuneiforms.
if it’s still there after thanksgiving, i think i’m going to have to get it.
on longer trips, especially since we take frida mostly everywhere with us, we’re often wanting more space in the car. on a trip to maine we saw a car with one of these roofbags and it looked like it might do the trick; affordable, waterproof, easy to put on and take off, and made in the USA.
we’re dog sitting for an extended period of time so on this trip to the upper peninsula of michigan it made even more sense to try out the roof bag so we could have both of the dogs in the space where the luggage would normally go.
so far, so good, although the dogs are a little confused 😃
will our luggage be scattered all over US 2? who knows!
we knew things were going well, but it’s pretty amazing considering he’s still getting used to the concept of grades and tests. he’s very much enjoying the challenge and i’ll say once again that the great foundation he got from his years at the waldorf school is showing ( not just the intellectual foundation but the mental as well ).
’tis the season for coughs and colds and i’ve succumbed to a strain of the common cold that’s going around. i know over-the-counter cough syrups don’t do much of anything but, counterintuitively, “dummy treatments [produce] marked improvements in the participant’s conditions”. sooooo, here’s my recipe for my own, personal placebo. i don’t know if it really works, but i believe it might! it’s probably just the honey. it’s not much to look at but it’s tasty. sort of.
kris found a link to the recipe on pinterest but didn’t keep it so i can’t cite the source.
ingredients:
2 T raw apple cider vinegar
2 T honey
2 T warm water
1/4 t cayenne pepper
1/4 t ground ginger
directions:
mix together. plug your nose. ingest a couple of tablespoons.
back in southwest wisconsin. FIRST SNOW! we’ve gotten away with a relatively mild winter so far, but the november shorts running weather is probably gone for good. how much snow will we get and will our friend the wooly bear caterpillar be proven correct? time will tell!
i moved on with this guy from olympia to seattle to check out retail sets. a low level cold is starting to get less low level and it’s messing with my sleep. BUT. I. WILL. LOOK. AT. SETS! in case you were wondering, this is a great set.
seattle has been very good to organic valley over the years and sets like this are one reason why. and, of course, you get a great looking set like this when you have lots of consumers who love coop and the milk 🙂
