for 14 years the galaxie 500 horn has not worked because a clip on the horn ring ( the thing you press to make contact to complete the horn circuit ) is broken. finding some parts for a 51 year old car can be a challenge and the clip on the horn ring is one of them. not impossible, but just hard enough that it’s been easier to just not have a horn.
on a recent longish road trip in the old ford i recommitted to finding the part to fix the horn because it’s sometimes it’s a safety issue to one! i stopped into the local ford dealership to see if they had the part. unsurprisingly, the answer was no.
weirdly, the week after i started thinking about fixing the horn it started honking on its own! but only when i’m cranking the steering wheel around more than a full rotation. i assume there’s a new bare spot on the horn wires in the steering column that are touching and completing the circuit when i turn the wheel?
it doesn’t honk all the time, just when i’m cranking the steering wheel around. and when am i most likely to be doing that? when i’m parking! which i’m quickly realizing can be super awkward when people are walking by. when i was leaving work some women were walking nearby when i was pulling out and the car started – HONK! HONK! HONK! of course, they looked at me perplexed which meant i had to stop and explain that i wasn’t honking at them. it was the car! doing it on it’s own! not me! crossed wires!
more perplexed looks.
refueling with an organic fuel after a 12 mile run and had a “pinch me” moment while simultaneously wearing my ov marketing and distance runner hats and contemplating all the reasons i’m proud of it.
a short video of the wind turbines providing significant portion of organic valley energy needs seemed relevant.
in the process of launching 4 new things. one of them ( which will be A Very Big Thing ) is being produced for the first time next week. this is my subtle communication to the launch team.
the t-shirt from kellan comes in handy at times like this. over-the-top if i wear it everyday until it ships?
so, so very happy to see my flavored half and half children back on the shelf at our local food coop and know that many people in the area and all over the country are happy again. we stopped making them a year ago because we ran out of cream! they were missed.
many, many people are very, very happy that we are coming back with flavored half and half. one of those people is rohan marley who happens to be the chairman of marley coffee, a former pro football player and son of bob Marley!
i was walking past his booth while at a show to officially announce the relaunch, saw he already had them at his coffee station and of course I had to say “hi” and take a picture of him with my new “babies” that you will soon be able to find everywhere.
oh, the flavored half and half tastes incredible AND THE NEW BOTTTLES ARE GORGEOUS! super tough gig spending a week in southern california, listening to people rave about your new products 🙂
seen while watching odin’s hockey team play a game in la crosse, wisconsin. i’m sure the la crosse parents were wondering why i was taking a picture of the organic fuel marketing on the glass. most of the viroqua parents know i’m a brand manager at organic valley SO I CAN’T HELP MYSELF!
it’s a little less subtle in “real life” but not obnoxiously so 🙂
odin is a voracious fuel drinker and i swear i don’t force him to drink it. he doesn’t know anything about refueling after a game, he just loves the taste.
would it be too much if i brought samples to hand out to the la crosse parents at our next game? just kidding. sort of.
