69/365. improbably, my disembodied hands still hang in the cafe at organic valley hq.
it till amuses me that around 6 years ago I took a photo of me stealing peas from theresa marquez’s organic valley employee garden plot ( she was then the ov chief marketing officer ) and somehow it ended up on the wall of our employee cafe ( seen here on the left ). And even more improbably it survived the hq fire from a few years ago, and was put back up after the rehab and redesign of the cafe after the fire.
66/365. put a fork in me, i’m done.
35/365. morning chores.
living in a rural area, having backyard chickens makes no economic sense since fresh eggs are readily available and, almost literally, a dime a dozen. but the daily routine of saying “Hallo!” while feeding The Girls always makes me a smile which, i think, is priceless.
making odin french toast with eggs collected straight from the coop even more so 🙂
day 3846: 13/365.
7/365. a new running low!
no, i’m not going to do all running selfies for the “365 project” but, whoooweee, this is a new low in more ways than one. 5 miles. -8°F actual. -27°F windchill. Probably -32-35°F windchill when factoring in 7mph running speed. it’s hard to see in photo but my eyelashes developing significant icicle buildup.
without a doubt this is the coldest run i’ve ever done. for gear, i threw on thermal underwear under my running pants, 3 long sleeve running shirts under my winter running coat, 2 pairs of socks, 3 gloves ( 2 running gloves and a pair of “regular” cold weather gloves ), a balaclava and a cold weather running hat. at these temps, i’m solidly in the skin freezes in 30 minutes zone, so i’m a bit paranoid about unintentionally exposed skin.
all things considered, the run felt good but -30°F windchill is my new low, brutal limit. probably not going to run if it gets any colder 🙂
i don’t know why i do this. i guess it’s the challenge. at the very least, it’ll make running in 0°F weather feel balmy.
6/365. a cooooooold run!
5 mile run at 7mph in 5°F temps and 15-20mph winds = -18°F windchill. right on the border of exposed skin freezing in 30 minutes! good thing my hot breath in warming my exposed eyes.
might possibly be one of the coldest runs i’ve done, though i’ve ended with larger eyelash icicles
