for nine years, replacing this window in the kitchen of our hundred year old house has been the “first domino” that triggers a series of projects leading to a complete remodel of much of the first floor of our home. today, it’s getting replaced which is awesome but my project list is going to get a lot longer. quickly.
we’re putting it with a new, shorter, much less drafty window that will allow us to move the kitchen sink under it. and moving the kitchen sink will make it possible to take out the wall between the kitchen and dining room ( hopefully it’s not a load bearing wall! ) which will lead to a new, larger open kitchen/dining space with an island. and lots of painting.
odin’s new hockey magnet photo arrived and it reminds me how time flies!
amusingly, i remember thinking when we enrolled him in the learn to play hockey program at our local arena when he was three ( at his request ), “oooooh, that won’t last.”
frida so, so, so, soooooo very much enjoys running with me, especially as the temps get colder. she can easily do 10 mile and under runs and gives me a “wait – what? we’re stopping?” look every time ( no surprise really since malamutes frequently make best running breeds lists ). i’m pretty sure she could easily do a marathon. it makes me wonder what sort of training regime she’d have to do to not get injured.
once again, after a couple of months in my possession, of the 104 hockey program fundraiser candy bars i had to sell, i have approximately 85 left to sell and the money is due 🙁 #happenseveryyear
