tonight’s treehouse movie theater showing of “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” is likely going to be rained out so logic clearly dictates odin, kris and I should go see “Star Trek Beyond”.
it was ok but ghostbusters was better.

went for an early run trying to beat what dark sky described as “light rain”. about 2 miles out it turned to heavy rain which is manageable but as i started to get nervous as the thunder started to get more rumbly and i noted i was one of the taller objects around while running along a road with soy fields on both sides.
i turned around to head home and soon after a police cruise passed me and went around a bend and about 20 seconds later a lighting bolt hit in a nearby stand of trees and was so loud and so startling that i almost tripped in the street and let out an involuntary stream of expletives.
i thought about asking a homeowner if i could hang out on their porch for a bit while the storm passed and while i was mulling it over, the cruiser rolls up and the officer rolls down his window and says, “hey, you want a ride home? it’s getting ugly out here.”
“you bet!”
thanks viroqua pd! i never did catch the officer’s name but i sure appreciated the ride.
i got 7 more rainy miles in after police ride home and storm died down. I *think* I can get a few more in before the yellow blob gets me! #shouldistayorshouldigonow
later: got back just as the booming started again!
i think me and my new moment wide lens are going to have a fun spring ( and beyond! ).
after 4 months of sitting in hockey arenas on weekends, i almost can’t believe the season is just about over. two games against onalaska today, the kids lost the first game 3-4 but won the second and last game of the regular season 4-3!
it’s always good to end the season with a win!
the next time they play a game it will be against dodgeville in the state championships on march 12th. they lost to dodgeville by one point in a game earlier in the season and i think they really want to avenge that loss. should be a good game.
whoowee! odin’s team has had an up and down season but they pulled it together for the game that determined whether or not they’d be going to the state championships! they beat sparta 6-3!
i’m proud of odin and the kids for keeping their cool during a tough game with lots of provocations and pulling out a win!
odin’s team played two games today and lost both games. they lost the first game against onalaska, 4-5 ( could have won on a different day ) and the second game against tomah, 0-10 ( holy cow, what a formidable team! ).
i captured it all on video so coach will have plenty of teachable moments to review with the kids 🙂
