one of odin’s favorite sandwiches. peanut butter and banana. sometimes made with honey but never fried and no bacon, so maybe not a true elvis but that’s what we call it 🙂

day 3850: 17/365 – a boy and his dog finishing The Lord of the Rings trilogy.
watching “Return of The King” completing our first viewing of the “The Lord of The Rings” film trilogy. odin noticed there was a similar scream in each of the movies so i told him about the wilhelm scream.
16/365. music night.
16 year old me would be mortified to learn 42 year old me gets together with a group of adults and their children to play music and sing songs. all jokes about me singing “if i only had a brain” will be sent to /dev/null.
we’ve been doing it for years. turns out it’s good, clean fun. the kids enjoy it and it’s a great excuse for me to challenge my inner hermit.
15/365. westinghouse model 500.
one of our house phones is kris’ grandparent’s phone from rock, michigan in the upper peninsula. i believe it’s a westinghouse model 500 from the 1950s.
when the phone rings, it delivers a satisfyingly old school BBBBBBRRIIIIINNNNGGG! BBBBBRRRRIIIIIIINNNNGGGG!
the only problem is you can’t dial out because our phone company upgraded the phone tubes and no longer supports “pulse” dialing, so i need to get one of those pulse to tone converters.
we have a similar model from my grandparents home in maine, but it doesn’t ring so it needs some restoration work.
14/365. sea anemone cairn.
who amongst us doesn’t have a sea anemone cairn in their house (anemones from coast of maine)? compliments our rock cairns.
day 3846: 13/365.
what do we do when we’re not sitting in cold hockey arenas watching odin play? We sit in cold hockey arenas with odin watching other people play. boys high school game. we had to leave after the 2nd period so odin could get to bed which didn’t make him happy 🙂
12/365. FACT: the holiday season is not done until I finish the last quart of organic valley eggnog.
