couldn’t ask for a more gorgeous day at the swimming hole!
what could possibly go wrong?!
waterlogged kids get aired out with a ride home in the galaxie.
building a backyard sauna was an ace move, but after a long run and sitting in a 160°F sauna ( which is actually about 30°F lower than we typically have it at ), put a fork in me ’cause I’m done!
btw, you do know that a “wet” finnish sauna has to be pronounced sow-na even when you’re saying it to yourself? i hope you haven’t been embarrassing yourself all these years and calling it a saw-na.
Kris: “we should make a cheesecake today!” ( we haven’t made a cheesecake in a looooong time ).
Me: “did you know it’s national cheesecake day?”
Kris:”no! We should definitely make one then!” Sooooooo…
martha stewart’s classic cheesecake recipe turned out pretty good. it’s no pasture butter cheesecake but it’ll do!
fun times! kids and parents alike enjoyed it though i have to say i think the reboot is better 🙂
i have to say sitting in the trees watching movies on an 11 foot movie screen is never not fun! highly recommended!
between the treehouse movie theater, the finnish sauna ( building on left ), the fire pit, and The Girls ( chicken coop on right ), i bet when i finally build the hobbit house treehouse on top of the deck, it will have serious airbnb potential.
i think there are a lot of people who would like a weekend of treehouse movies, saunas and tending to The Girls with the freshest breakfast eggs you can imagine! just kidding. sort of.
