i was asked by our awesome local librarian to read a book with local grade school kids and keep a journal as we read and discuss along the way. very happy to do it even if my schedule created a few conflicts 🙁
i would really enjoy doing it again if I get another invite 🙂
one of us is watching girls hockey tourney and one of us is buried in a book and being antisocial.
the cover of the report is an excellent reproduction of a map in the book.
he’s tearing through diary of a wimpy kid at the expense of talking with his poppi 🙂
me: “what do you want to read before lights out?”
odin: “the dictionary!”
we take turns giving each other random words and time each other with a stopwatch to see can find words faster and then read the definition.
it’s a fun game and with almost every word both of us learn something new.
he’s looking for “zenith” on this round. for now i can usually beat him, but i don’t think that will last for long.
frida is getting veeeeeeery sweepy as odin wubs her ears.
/me shakes fist at gutenberg.
just kidding. we don’t normally allow reading at dinner but what are you going to do when it’s a book about great hockey players?
