for reasons that are clear only to odin he decided to write his name on the sidewalk, not in front of our house, but down the street on the corner.

day 3970 – 136/365. odin represents the hockey association during a local syttende mai parade.
we got together around 20 players and parents to hand out syttende mai parade ( in honor of norwegian constitution day. yes, this is the same town where, if you look closely you might detect a hint of the local scandinavian heritage ).
hopefully we’ll get some new recruits for the association and maybe a few new organic fuel consumers 🙂
sometimes i’m surprised at how badly i can fail at capturing the moment. no posed shot of all the players on the truck. no action shot of them rollerblading around the float, handing out candy. no good shot of the truck with the great looking banners we had made. sigh.
day 3956 – 122/365. odin’s piano recital!
it’s hard to believe he’s been playing for over a year and this is second recital! he was nervous but he aced it. i’ll post video at some point but for now i’m behind on the 365 project so i’ve got to catch up on that!
day 3955 – 121/365. taking down the dead peach tree.
so sad to have to take down the peach tree that was killed by the brutal winter before last.
you see that face? that’s odin’s fake smile because at this point he’s not exactly super happy to be helping me.
but lo – we did it – stump and all! and in relatively short order. while it’s a bummer to have to take her down, we’re planting one to replace her.
day 3954 – 120/365. may day!
odin catches sight of me in the crowd while watching the kids arrive for may day festivities. i love that he’s genuinely happy to see me
i was futzing with the lens and almost missed what is now one of my favorite photos of odin.
day 3949 – 115/365. cousins and their dogs.
it’s fun when cousins visit and even funner when they bring their dog! poika is being obstinate about not looking at the camera.
day 3944 – 110/365. Odin Plays Odin!
he’s standing in the center monologuing! the whole class did a great job in their school play. very proud of them all! while odin isn’t shy standing up in front of a crowd hasn’t been one of his strengths. doubly proud of him for doing in and projecting his voice.
odin in his garb. not quite as impressive without the eye patch ( d’oh! forgot to have him put it on ) but a great costume nonetheless!
