for some of us, eggnog season cannot arrive quickly enough. it’s finally back on the shelf!
i love all my organic valley children but i might love some of them more than others 🙂

when i was packing for my trip odin noticed i grabbed my 5th generation nano ( which pretty much only gets used when i’m traveling to save space and battery life on my phone ) and he said simply and without any sense of irony, “oh, you’re taking your old fashioned iPod?”
oh, i get it, it’s all retro with it’s click wheel interface and no touchscreen or apps but “old fashioned” i mean c’mon…OH MY GOD “ON FIRE” CAME OUT 26 YEARS AGO.
or at least that’s the way it feels sitting in the low numbered gates of terminal b ( the american air terminal ) at dallas/fort worth international airport. any food or coffee is like a 10 minute walk along boarded up gates that i’m going to guess signals renovation but gives the vibe that it’s boarded up section of town. the monitors throwing exception codes only adds to the effect.
ahhh, wikipedia says the the gates are under construction.
on my morning runs up and down the strip i got used to photobombed approximately 8,000 selfies, but this morning i got the extra special treat of also photobombing the cnn booth in front of the hotel where the democratic presidential debate was happening later that evening.
feeling like a stranger in a strange land wandering the fremont street experience in old las vegas. i don’t gamble and i don’t patronize strip clubs so it’s a bit, er, strange.
that said, i could spend years taking pictures in vegas.
out for a morning run in vegas and, oh hey, it’s the fabulous las vegas sign i think is required to be in any vegas movie even though, like most of the strip, the sign is not actually in vegas.
apropos of nothing, right before i stumbled upon the sign, i literally stumbled after hitting a funny patch of sidewalk. pretty good stop, drop and roll. nice technique but i’m sure i’ll feel it in the morning.
never been to vegas before. i don’t gamble, so i guess i’ll fill my time people watching on the strip. hey, there’s a “volcano” in front of in front of the mirage hotel. i think the volcano is a mirage thing, but treasure island hotel is in the background of this photo. maybe there’s some obvious relationship between the mirage and a fake volcano that i’m not getting?
it’s not even 10 local time and I think many people are not pacing themselves.
