137/365. odin completed his cross-stitch project!
on time and under budget 🙂 he had to make a few modification to his original plan based on string supply but i think it turned out great!
day 3970 – 136/365. odin represents the hockey association during a local syttende mai parade.
we got together around 20 players and parents to hand out syttende mai parade ( in honor of norwegian constitution day. yes, this is the same town where, if you look closely you might detect a hint of the local scandinavian heritage ).
hopefully we’ll get some new recruits for the association and maybe a few new organic fuel consumers 🙂
sometimes i’m surprised at how badly i can fail at capturing the moment. no posed shot of all the players on the truck. no action shot of them rollerblading around the float, handing out candy. no good shot of the truck with the great looking banners we had made. sigh.
135/365. a wonderful surprise birthday party.
jerome, the bearded white wizard is telling a story about his son jerry ( sitting to his left in blue to the right of the fire ). we very much surprised jerry for his 50th birthday party. jerome and jerry are both very special people at organic valley.
as a side note, i’m wearing a green cape that says “captain grassmilk”, neon green socks, green shorts and green shirt. long story.
134/365. something seems a little fishy about the broken glasses story.
odin came home from a class field trip with broken glasses. when asked how it happened he said, “i don’t know, i just took them off to clean them and they broke in two.” hmmmmmmm…
glad they’re under warranty and we have back up glasses!
if memory serves this is his first pair of broken glasses after almost 10 years, so we’ll let the fishy story slide.
133/365. who doesn’t love peanut butter on saltine crackers?
in fact, i might go so far as to say that, unless you have a peanut butter allergy, if you don’t love peanut butter ( of course, creamy not crunchy ) on saltines then i’m not sure we can be friends.

coming home from hockey practice at the omnicenter, odin and i stopped to admire the view. looking northwest across the river, belle island to the left and rosebud island to the right.
