we planted a couple of plum trees a few years ago and the good news is that they have blossomed this year! the bad news is it’s early spring and i think they probably won’t survive impending frost 🙁

oh nothing, just jacking up a 2,000 pound treehouse deck, as one does.
some might recall two years ago when i wrote a PSA on how to avoid needing to check your underpants while jacking up a treehouse deck. as a result of that incident the treehouse deck as been juuuuuust slightly off center of the supports.
it was only a few inches off center which not enough for anyone to notice but me to notice, but it’s been annoying me for two years so today i jacked up the deck again very carefully and with odin’s help ever so carefully shifted it back and lowered it down.
now it’s perfect! though it’s never not disconcerting to but under the deck when it’s jacked up. i hope i don’t have to do it again!
day 4368: odin can not tell a lie.
while we will probably never know if george washington really did, there is no doubt that odin did, in fact, chop down the cherry tree.
it’s one of two cherry trees we have and while the other one is thriving, this one just wasn’t liking where we planted it and never produced any fruit.
334/365. not really sure what i think about our charlie brown-ish christmas tree.
after many years of having full, white pines for christmas trees we brought back a fir from the upper peninsula, partly because of the fond memories we have of living in the pacific northwest and christmas with noble firs.
but this one reminds me of the sad christmas tree in the “a charlie brown christmas”. or maybe i just need to give it a chance?
174/365. first apple on our apple tree! and the emergence of mystery rust red splotches on leaves.
surprised to see we already have an apple on the transparent apple tree we just planted last fall. also bummed to see we have mysterious rusty red splotches on the leaves. can any apple tree experts identify?
127/365. first blossoms on our new transparent apple tree.
no peaches but we’ve got a billion cherries coming and a few blossoms on a transparent apple tree that we just planted last fall. i don’t expect too get much if any fruit, but maybe next year!
it’s supposed to be a dwarf but it’s already 7 feet tall?!
123/365. tart cherry blossoms.
we lost our peach tree, but based on blossoms we’re about to get approximately 1 billion cherries the year!
