we have several different varieties of peonies around the yard including this tree peony which i believe is a cultivar known as a cherry festival which has petals so brilliant and just the right wavelength they totally saturate the cmos sensor.

you don’t even want to know how long it took me to get this shot with the fern moving around in a gentle breeze! the spider is smaller than a dime.

there are something like 25,000 orchid species making it one of the largest families of plants and i don’t know them very well so i have no idea which particular orchid has made it into our home but it’s purty.
