hopefully we’ll be back on air soon! ( happy thanksgiving!)

12.01.07 update: through the miracle of modern technology, you can now see posts for november. don’t miss “all better!” or “the most super awesomest tree swing. EVAR!”. and more! ( act fast, offer not ending soon. )

uff da! from the looks of my very occasional looks at my very full email box and comments made here and there around the world wide web, when you drop off the radar for a few weeks right before the holiday season and right after writing about an (un)happy halloween – people notice!

we’re all happy and (mostly) healthy. odin eventually recovered from his ailments right before passing it along to us. of course, after a day or two of feeling well after not feeling well for almost 10 days, we all caught a second round of colds!

then, in the midst of feeling sub-par, my home computer went down for the count and i managed to make the situation worse by using the wrong tool for the job and have spent the past 3 weeks attempting to recover a whole lot of photos and other important stuff that somehow never got backed up ;-( aaaaaaaaand, the sb-600 flash that i use is limping along and acting up at inappropriate times so i’m trying to work on that in all that extra my spare time i have.

oh, and the weeks running up to thanksgiving represent the high water mark for the year in the dairy world which makes for busy times if you’re in the business of forecasting demand.

despite all that, we’re staying in good spirits and had a wonderful thanksgiving day with local friends. odin is continuing to make excellent progress with hockey and just this morning he finally mastered standing up on his own on the ice. if you haven’t skated in awhile, you might not recall that getting up after you fall is actually quite a trick and more difficult to do learn than actual skating!

and finally, i’m very happy to report that i have have two external drives drives whirring away as i type, while data rescue II recovers all those photos.

it might take a few more days to get up to cruising speed, but i’m sure you’ll be hearing from us soon. surely you might want to know why odin will tell everyone who listens that his poppi dressed up like a giant corncob and ran down main street. or what his new bunny rabbit is named. more soon!
