the eric update – day 538: ’twas the night before christmas!

we’re trying to start a family tradition of reading odin a new, special book each christmas eve. last year, appropriately enough, he heard the night before christmas and this year we thought we’d go with something more modern with dream snow by eric carle.

in the past, odin hasn’t really seemed interested in “pointing” which might make people happy who think it’s rude to point, but it’s a nice way to judge that an infant is able to engage in shared experiences; in fact, not engaging in “pro-declarative” pointing by 18 months is one of the early signs of autism.

so it’s nice to see odin using his pointing finger much more frequently 🙂

in any case, from odin and us, happy festivus, hanukkah , christmas, kwanzaa or whatever else you might be into celebrating!
