while i’m not planning on detailing the minutia of odin’s eating habits, it’s still hard to imagine that it’s only been a week or so since his first adventure with cheerios; after months of not tolerating any food with the slightest of chunks, he’s turned some sort of corner and now is relatively excited to try all manner of new foods.
today we tried another old standby for parents everywhere – the goldfish. at first, he’s not too sure what to make of this strange looking snack, but after watching munch on a few ( dozen ) of them he thought it might be a fun thing to try.

after munching on goldfish, odin seemingly contemplates what new and perhaps even more interesting and challenging snack pops is pulling from his magic bag of mealtime tricks.
i had no idea that they made honey graham crackers perfectly sized for little hands.
again, it might seem like the most boring of details for parents that take these things for granted, but when we see him so aptly maneuvering such a small object towards his mouth we think one thing:
WHOOOHOOO! ODIN HAS “FINE” MOTOR CONTROL!

now, i have to admit that we had grand hopes that odin would prefer all organic, “natural” foodstuffs over more heavily processed goldfish and graham crackers ( although certainly they’re not the worst foods in the world by a long shot ), but while he couldn’t get enough of the other foods, he looks at us as if we’re silly when we try to get him eat these organic apple and cinnamon things that we even confess taste a bit like cardboard. hi. ho.
