we thought it would be fun to do a little “feet painting” on odin’s birthday but simply ran out of time with all the other excitement of the day.
but today was as good a day as any to see if we could actually get a print of odin’s feet without getting paint spread over the entire area ( including the camera! ).
i held his legs while kris painted his feet; while he wasn’t upset, he certainly was interested in what she smearing around and why we didn’t want him to grab his feet with hands!
i wonder how long the crayola washable paints will stay preserved on the paper. maybe it would be a good idea to laminate the paper?
it’s harder than i initially suspected to get a good print, since his natural instinct is to curl up his toes and move his feet in a way that makes it a challenge to get a crisp impression.
maybe next time we’ll try to concoct some sort of plaster of paris cast 🙂
at last we succeed after trying and trying again!
it’s still amazing to see how much his feet have grown when you compare the print to the one made on his first night in the nicu when they were barely bigger than a nickel!
someday he’ll never believe that his feet could be so tiny.
