154/365. Lamprocapnos spectabilis ( bleeding heart ).
more blossoms around the snowdeal yard. the bleeding heart legend makes for an interesting read:
“In the story, a young man tried to win the love of a young lady. He did this by giving a pair of rabbits (which are the first two petals of the flower), a pair of slippers (which are the next two petals of the flower), and finally a pair of earrings (which are the last two petals of the flower) to the girl. She continued to reject his affections, and, heart-broken, he pierced his heart with his sword (the middle part of the flower), which caused the bleeding heart.”
153/365. Allium schoenoprasum ( chive ).
keep calm. chive on. maybe chive blossom vinegar should be a thing this year.
151/365. paeonia officinalis ‘dayton’.
more purty peonies in bloom around the yard. i *think* this one is a dayton peony.
149/365. rhododendron ferrugineum.
cherry festival tree peony naughty bits.
we have several different varieties of peonies around the yard including this tree peony which i believe is a cultivar known as a cherry festival which has petals so brilliant and just the right wavelength they totally saturate the cmos sensor.
