personally, i’ve found that many of the ‘dating design patterns’ can also be used as ‘marriage design patterns’. married men everywhere will be quiet familiar with the ‘optimistic persistence, a.k.a. surprise statefulness’ pattern :

“Store small unique key data and create impressed listener by retrieving it. Females consider retrieval of data regarding anyone but himself or any sports figure highly unusual in a man, and likewise highly valuable and appealing.”
