it seems like just yesterday that i was commenting about the fact that odin was in a gray area with respect to crawling , so it’s hard to believe that we’re at a similar point with standing unassisted and – maybe – walking!

over the past week or so, he’s been intentionally letting go of whatever he’s holding onto and standing by himself – sometimes for 5 or 6 seconds; but it’s hard to capture on camera, so i thought i might entice him with a set of keys. the ploy almost worked, but not quite 🙂

of course, the increased frequency of letting go of corners of tables and whatnot has dramatically increased occurrences of ouchies ( in fact, if you look close to his nose, you can see the results of another recent scrape-up ), but he seems to be surviving.

and while he’s been walking with the assistence of a walker for quite some time, we’ve noticed that occasionally when he stands unassisted – if he’s really motivated – he’ll even take a step or two!

we might be in this gray area for some time to come, but he’s so coordinated when he walks with his walker, that i suspect that sooner rather than later he’ll be tearing around the house on two feet!
