yes, it really is true. even though odin is quite a mild mannered, if just a bit serious infant, a long day full of adventures without an afternoon nap can occasionally break even the strongest of spirits and bring about a fit of sadness.

but not enough sadness to call forth the crocodile tears. in fact, i think i can count on one hand the number of times i’ve seen tears. before we graduated from the nicu it wasn’t that uncommon because he wasn’t “old” enough to even have functioning tear ducts capable of doing much more than keeping his eyes moist and infants don’t normally develop “real tears” they are about seven or eight months old.

so i guess we’re just such spectacular parents that he chooses not to really turn on the waterworks.

but he can still look pretty sad, even without the tears.
