i went in for lasik surgery today. it was quick and relatively painless. thankfully i had been warned about the smell of burning eyeball flesh that occurs when the laser is applied to the cornea. immediately after the surgery, things looked like i was observing them through a cloudy glass of water, which was a bit disconcerting. however, i’ve had my eyes closed for the better part of the last eight hours and my vision is noticeably improved. i think my vision might be better than what i could get with contacts or glasses. hopefully it will stay that way.

time to rest the eyes again.
